Fellow Nigerians, consider the electoral significance of the numbers above. The winning presidential candidate received about 8.8 million votes in 2023, 15.2 million in 2019, and 15.4 million in 2015. Each of the groups highlighted above represents millions of Nigerians whose participation could have substantial electoral influence. Twenty million organised voters alone would exceed the number of votes received by the winning candidate in each of Nigeria’s last three presidential elections. The numbers demonstrate the potential influence of large-scale voter participation.
